Produce Denver looks at the urban environment as a unique ecosystem where people and land come together in very intimate ways. This land literally holds us and our family and friends. Yards are important spaces to enjoy and relax in. They are spaces to inspire us and spark our curiosity in nature. We strive to make these spaces comfortable, fun and fascinating spaces. You may be surprised at how much you can grow in your own yard!
Our yards are micro-climates that we walk through every day. We look at these spaces from our windows, patios and walkways and we can see where the cool shade and blazing sun come down. There are areas where the wind will be strongest, where rain will tend to run. With this in mind, we can choose appropriate plants for the correct locations that are vibrant and productive. We work diligently and very hard to make sure that this is a fruitful and beautiful piece of the world for you and your loved ones.
There are as many styles of gardening as there are people. We want you to feel comfortable and confident in the space around your home. The more you can share with us about what you are wanting, the more we can tailor your yard to your needs. The styles of gardening that we adhere to in our own gardens are the ideals of permaculture, bio-intensive gardening, and following organic standards.
There is so much information on the internet, in books, and in our communities. Somehow it is still so difficult to find locally applicable information. We, along with many friends in the Denver community, will be teaching and learning at a whole array of classes. Produce Denver strongly believes in local solidarity in overcoming informational and educational roadblocks that are so prevalent in our culture.
